Las Horquetas

We invite you to a 4-day trip across the Cerro Castillo classic trekking route in the region of Aysen, Chile.

This trip is a 55-kilometer (34-mile) trek through Patagonian forests, mountain passes, rivers, and lagoons in Cerro Castillo National Park. This protected area lies among the watersheds of the Aysen and Ibañez Rivers. Besides, it is crossed by the well-known Carretera Austral.

This trail offers spectacular views of Cerro Castillo Mountain range with rugged peaks, glaciers, and deciduous forests that change the landscape depending on the season. This trip usually takes four days and three nights, during which you will really go deep into the heart of Patagonia and the mountains of Aysén. On this road, you can observe several species of flora, fauna, and fungi. Mirador laguna cerro Castillo offers without a doubt one of the most scenic camps and viewpoints in the region.

The adventure will start in Las Horquetas, continue hiking along the Laguna Cerro Castillo, to El Neozelandés, laguna Duff, and finally, back to the village.
