PERE VILARASAU 

Our founder and Director at Cerro Castillo Mountain Guides. He was born in Barcelona in 1969, Spain. He became UIAGM-IFMGA Mountain Guide in 2005. Pere has spent the last 25 years working as a Mountain Guide in the Andes Range and Europe. He has been devoted to explore virgin mountain ranges such as Carabaya Range, Vilcanota Range, Yelcho Range, Quimza Cruz, Torres del Brujo, Cerro Castillo Range, San Lorenzo and San Valentín.

Half of the year Pere is based at Chamonix and the other half in Aysén, around Cerro Castillo village, Chile.

RAIMUNDO DE ANDRACA

UIAGM-IFMGA Mountain Guide from Chile. He was born in 1993 and has always been surrounded by the mountains in his life. Rai, as we call him, has done several new ski descents and climbing in the central Andes and Patagonia.

In the last years, he has being climbing and skiing around the Alps, Alaska, the Canadian Rockies and across the vast Andes Mountains. His true passion lies in sharing the thrill of climbing and skiing in the most remote and untouched landscapes in the Andes range.

VIOLETA SEPULVEDA

UIMLA Guide and NOLS instructor from Chile. She was born in 1994 in Santiago, Chile. Violeta studied geography at the Catholic University of Santiago, motivated by her interest in understanding nature and its forms. In 2017, she trained as a UIMLA guide in La Pobla de Segur, Spain.

In recent years, she has been devoted to raising her climbing level and guiding trails around Patagonia. Violeta is based in Cerro Castillo village, Chile.

DIEGO SAEZ

 

UIAGM-IFMGA Aspirant Guide from Chile. He was born in 1981 in Punta Arenas, Chile. Diego has been dedicated to explore and document several ski descents and climbings around the world. In the last years, he has been climbing and skiing around the Canadian Rockies, USA, Pakistan, Ecuador, Perú and Argentina. He is based in Cerro Castillo village, Chile.

JAVIER GALLEANI

UIAGM-IFMGA Mountain Guide from Chile.  He has extensive experience in climbing and expeditions in Chilean Patagonia, particularly in the Aysén region. Throughout his career, he has traveled the Chilean mountain range from north to south, exploring its peaks either by climbing or skiing. He also has international experience in Argentine Patagonia, the Cordillera Real in Bolivia and the Cordillera Blanca in Perú.

His passion for the mountains and his commitment to safety and adventure motivates him to share these unique experiences with those who seek to connect with nature and overcome their limits.

NICOLAS VALDERRAMA

UIAGM-IFMGA Mountain Guide from Chile. Born and raised in Santiago, he moved to the Aysén region at the age of 22. He has explored various locations in the Andes mountain range, gaining experience in different climbing styles and terrains. An avid skier since childhood and passionate about exploration, Nicolás has spent recent years training as a high-mountain guide. In parallel, he has opened new routes in Patagonia, including ski descents on the south face of San Valentín and San Lorenzo in winter, and climbed unexplored peaks in the Aysén region.

JAVIER MORAGA

UIAGM-IFMGA Mountain Guide from Chile. Born and raised in Coyhaique, Patagonia. From a young age, he grew up surrounded by mountains, which sparked a deep connection with nature and inspired him to choose this career as a way of life, with respect and dedication. Over the years, he had the opportunity to climb and ski in various parts of the world, including North America, New Zealand, Europe, and across the vast Andes Mountains.

As a professional guide, his priority is to provide safe, authentic, and unforgettable experiences in some of the most spectacular and remote landscapes on Earth.

PABLO MIRANDA

UIAGM-IFMGA Mountain Guide and NOLS Instructor from Chile. Pablo was born and raised in Coyhaique and developed a love for the outdoors from a young age, which eventually led him to rock climbing at 15. Over the years, his passion for exploration has led him to remote, lesser-known areas, often venturing into places that remain undocumented and unexplored by others. This journey has taken him across various mountain ranges in the Americas.

As an active local route setter, Pablo has played a key role in the development of climbing in the Aysén Region, offering valuable contributions through various initiatives.

ANGM Mountain Guide and NOLS Instructor from Chile. Cata was born and raised in Concepción, south of Santiago, Chile. She studied graphic design in university, but discovered that the outdoors was her place in the world. She began climbing over a decade ago, which led her to the mountains all year round. Cata lives a simple life, dedicated to exploring and enjoying nature from up high. She is based in Villa Cerro Castillo, Patagonia.

ANGM Mountain Guide from Chile. She is passionate about mountain sports and enjoying the views they provide, the connection with nature and understanding the environment. ANGM Mountain Guide from Chile. He was born in the Aysén Region and studied Adventure Tourism before professionalizing with the Chilean National Association of Mountain Guides (ANGM). Pepon, as we call him, has organized various expeditions to the Ice Fields in both winter and summer. He is constantly training and always willing to learn more and share with different cultures and people.

Fito Torrens es guía certificado por la ANGM, con base en Coyhaique, en la Patagonia. Cuenta con formación profesional en guiado de trekking, montaña y escalada en roca, y actualmente se encuentra en proceso de certificación como guía de alta montaña UIAGM/IFMGA.

Con más de diez años de experiencia en deportes de montaña y una profunda conexión con el territorio, Fito ha desarrollado una mirada integral del guiado, donde la seguridad, la calidad del servicio y la experiencia del cliente son prioridad. Su conocimiento del terreno y su enfoque técnico lo convierten en un guía confiable para excursiones de distintos niveles, desde salidas de trekking hasta ascensiones técnicas.

JUAN JOSÉ ALVAREZ

 

 

 

Expeditions and hiking guide, he’s been living in Villa Cerro Castillo since 2017. He currently works as a Coordinator for the local Highschool, working with the ecotourism program and teaching rock climbing. He’s loves climbing both ice and rock, has put up new routes and worked to develop different climbing areas in the Aysén Region over the years. In his free time, he loves practicing yoga and aspires to become an instructor in the near future.
